
The High Commission of India in Accra on Wednesday 8 March, 2017 joined Ghana and the rest of the world to mark this year’s International Women’s Day with music and modeling display at the residence of the Indian High Commissioner, His Excellency Birender Singh Yadav.
The evening event which was attended by women of all walks of life was used to celebrate the women in Ghana, India and the whole world.

In his short remarks, Mr Yadav commended the women for their contributions towards the socio-economic development of Ghana, India and the rest of the world.
He used the occasion to urge the women to keep up the good work they are doing.
This year’s International Women’s Day was under the theme, ‘Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 30:50 by 2030’, while the Ghanaian-adopted theme for this year’s celebration: ‘Economic Empowerment of Rural Women: A Tool for Sustainable Development in a Changing World of Work’.
The International Women’s Day is marked every year globally to celebrate the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.
