Group CEO: MTN Meets Objectives of Ambition 2025 Strategy

Group President and CEO of MTN Group, Ralph Mupita

Accra, Ghana//-The objectives of MTN’s Ambition 2025 strategy, which is anchored on building the largest and most valuable platform business with a clear focus on Africa, that is underpinned by five growth platforms, have been met with satisfaction.

The Group President and CEO of MTN Group, Ralph Mupita, disclosed this to journalists in Accra at a program dubbed ‘Bright Conversations with Ralph Mupita’ as part of his two-day working visit to Ghana.

“We set up a series of aspirations that we wanted to achieve by the end of 2025 within the context of the global economy. You could remember that there was the time of COVID-19 and other challenges, that was the context we set it in, and it helps us a lot,” he told the journalists.

“What I am happy with the strategy is that if you stand back and look at where MTN is, we substantially met the objectives of the Ambition 2025”.

Mr Mupita was quick to say that the Ambition 2025 strategy, which is underpinned by five growth platforms – MoMo (FinTech Solutions), Ayoba (Digital Solutions), Enterprise Services, Network (Network as a Service) and Chenosis (API MarketPlace), is a framework which actually doesn’t come to an end.

He noted that the needs have even gone up, and so they are looking beyond 2025 to create a couple of opportunities for Ghanaians and other Africans.

The first thing is that we are reinforcing that the future of MTN is investing in businesses in MTN, connectivity business, fintech business, and digital infrastructure business.

Mr Mupita explained that their quest to provide ubiquitous telecom services and digital financial services to many ordinary Africans, the strategy would continue to even 2030 and beyond.

Worried by the huge number of Africans who are still not included in financial services, he assured them that Africa’s leading telecom giant, which operates in 16 markets,  is going to put forward a strategy to enable them to meet the needs of all these Africans.
