Accra, Ghana//-When news broke about the appointment of Mrs Mona Helen Kabuki Quartey as the new Ghana’s Ambassador-Designate to the Republic of Italy this month, there were scintillas of joy inside and outside the diplomatic community.
Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama, who commissioned Mrs Mona Quartey and her colleague envoys at a ceremony in Accra on Wednesday, November 19, charged them to uphold Ghana’s interests with diligence and foresight as they assume their diplomatic roles.
He also used the occasion to praise the envoys for their dedication to national service, emphasising that their appointments reflected merit and commitment to the country.
“Your appointments are recognition of your competence, your years of service, and your demonstrated commitment to our dear nation, Ghana,” he told them.
Mrs Mona Quartey, who was not new to public service, set in motion with precision and hard work to consolidate the gains or surpass the achievements of her predecessors. She is expected to receive her Letters of Credence from the Italian leader.
