Ghana@66: DBI District Honours MD of Antika Company Alhaji Abdulai Antiku

The Daffiama-Bussie-Issa (DBI) District Assembly in collaboration with the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council has honoured the Managing Director (MD) of Antika Company Limited, Alhaji Abdulai Antiku Seidu for his sterling contribution to the growth and development of the district and the region at large.

The award was presented to him at the 66th Independence Day held at Kojokperi in the DBI District by the Paramount Chief of Daffiama Traditional Area and the President of the Regional House of Chief, Naa Yelekuang Bawiele.

In a citation which reads: “This award is presented to Alhaji Abdulai Antiku (Antika Company Limited) for your invaluable contribution to the growth and development of the district. The chiefs and people of Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District appreciate you wholeheartedly”.

The plaque

Alhaji Antiku has employed over 290 workers comprising 65 permanent staff and 220 casuals made up of 65 females and 225 males through his Antika Company Limited.

While the company’s large farm is located at Tabiasi within the District.

Commenting on the award, Alhaji Antiku thanked the DBI District, the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council and the chiefs for the honour done him.

He assured that this recognition would propel him and the company to greater heights.

Alhaji Antiku has received several awards including Second Runner-up Best Farmer of Ghana 2019 at the 35th edition of the National Farmers’ Day held in Ho in the Volta Region.

The DBI District at the same 66th Independence Day event also honoured other awardees who included a Supreme Court justice, Justice Kulendi, Lawyer Thardisoius Sory, Contractor PWD Ghanem and Yussiya.

 Instructively, Antika Company Limited which was established over two decades, provides high-quality seeds, distributes, and sells agro-inputs such as fertilizer, agro-chemicals, and simple and affordable farm tools to farmers in the Upper West Region and across the Northern part of Ghana.
