Ghana: Water and Electricity Tariffs Go Up Despite Twin Crises

Accra, Ghana//-Ghana’s Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) today announced tariff increases for electricity and water consumers, effective September 1, 2022.

Consumers who have been badly affected by the twin crises of covid and Russian-Ukraine are being asked to cough out their scarce currency to pay 27.15% and 21.55%  adjustment for the two essential commodities-electricity and water respectively.
