
Accra, Ghana/-Tarragon Edge Limited, in partnership with Empowered to Restore (ETR), has launched a brand-new sewing academy at the T-Edge Hub in Madina, a suburb of Accra.
This initiative according to the parties aims to provide women with essential skills training, equipping them with the ability to break free from the cycle of poverty and secure a sustainable future for their families.
The official launch of the Sewing Academy was on 5th February,2025 and was happy to be joined by about 19 team members from Empowered to Restore (ETR),USA.
The Sewing Academy is known as Kingdom Ambassadors Sewing Academy-Empowered to Restore by Drs Gerald F. and Judith A Davis.
The academy will serve as a beacon of hope for numerous women seeking to gain hands-on experience in tailoring and garment-making.
The initiative is designed to not only impart vocational skills but also instil confidence and self-reliance among its beneficiaries.
Through comprehensive training programmes, participants will acquire the necessary expertise to create high-quality clothing and accessories, thereby enhancing their economic prospects.
The Sewing Academy is one of such strategic partnerships and collaborations of Tarragon Edge as the organisation’s focus is on ensuring they are contributing their quota to their aligned SDGs 5,8 and a17 and also to ensure that the youth especially are equipped with skills and knowledge to manoeuvre their world.
Dr Genevieve Pearl, the promoter of SDGs hinted that in line with the company’s vision, a lot more of these collaborations to offer vocational skills to the youth in their communities and the country at large will take place this year, as the company is aimed at equipping 1000 young people with vocational skills training this year across the country.
Dr Kym Grant-Horsey Director of Education and Vocational training at Empower to Restore (ETR) expressed her excitement about the Centre in Ghana and pledged her support to ensuring the Centre is sustainable.
The founder of Empowered to Restore, Pastor Trecie D. Bolton was impressed about the Centre and expressed her support in seeing that the Centre grows and expands in other parts of the country. Other board members who were part of this visit are Dr Michelle and Leroy Yates, Don L Horn.
Some other members who visited the Centre are Pastor Faye, Kelly, Angelia, Elizabeth, Sharon, Yomah and Shalley.
In expressing thanks, the Lead Consultant of Tarragon Edge Dr. Genevieve Pearl expressed the organization’s commitment to the sewing Centre and openly blessed the team at ETR and especially thanked the donors Drs Gerald F. Davis(late) and Judith A. Davis and pledged that the Academy is dedicated to the empowerment of women and girls to be financially stable and together impact their homes and communities.

She concluded by stating that Tarragon Edge is happy to partner many more non-profit organisations, governments and other companies to build capacity and empower more youth.
The Sewing Academy officially will start its 3-month basic sewing classes with the first cohort on 17th February,2025, and has flexible schedule for students.
The Centre has strategic partners like The Edge Credit Union, KAY stitches, SELMA fashion, OYSKA Technical Institutes and many others who will partner the Centre for apprenticeship, upgrade in fashion design, tailoring and dressmaking, T-VET certification and access to funding and Go-to Market strategies.
A holistic approach to vocational education is what Tarragon Edge promises under its Vocational Skills Wing.
