Ghana: Hanan Abdul-Wahab Adjudged Lifestyle Politician of the Year

Philanthropist and politician, Hanan Abdul-Wahab over the weekend adjudged ‘Lifestyle Politician of the Year’ at a ceremony held in the Northern Regional capital, Tamale.

A citation accompanying the award said the honour was in recognition of Mr. Abdul-Wahab’s contribution to the development of the lifestyle in Ghana.

The Ghana Lifestyle Awards recognizes the contribution of individuals and institutions for their role in the enhanced lifestyles of particularly the youth and publicly honour goodwill gestures towards humanity.

Mr Abdul-Wahab is a well-respected politician in the northern part of the country and is said to be a philanthropist whose goodwill gestures cut across the political divides even though a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Upper East Region.

Thousands of young people are said to have benefitted from him in diverse ways including scholarships, payment of school fees, Ambulance donations, among others.

He recently handed over a number of boreholes whose construction he funded to a number of communities in the Pusiga Constituency where he is also supporting the extension of electricity to various towns and villages without power supply.

The latest honour is one of such recognitions he has earned both in Ghana and outside the continent.
