September 20, 2020//-The Chief of Jema in Bono East Region, Nana Amponsah Gyan II, has called on Ghanaians to return the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and John Dramani Mahama to power by voting massively for him in the December election.
According to him, the previous NDC government embarked on massive developmental projects in his area and other parts of the country.
Nana Gyan II made the call at a ceremony to install the former President and flagbearer of the NDC John Dramani Mahama as the Nkosuohene of the Apesika Traditional area.
He emphasized that Mr Mahama deserved the honour for the remarkable development projects he executed in the area when he was President.
Nana Gyan II was quick to add that Mr Mahama deserved another term to finish up some projects that have been abandoned by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
Mr Mahama was installed Nkosuohene (Development Chief) under the stool name, Nana Beyeman Kwame Ababio I.
He went through all the customary rites with the guidance of Nana Amponsah Gyan II, the Chief of Jema, who is the Kyidomhene of the Nkoranza Traditional Council.
Later, speaking at a durbar held in honour of Mr Mahama, Nana Gyan II acknowledged projects such as roads, water and schools as some of the legacy projects of the then government of President Mahama.
However the chief was unhappy that the projects started during the Mahama administration has been abandoned by the Akufo-Addo government.
Nana Gyan II therefore urged his people to return the NDC to power by voting for Mr Mahama in the December 7 presidential election to enable him continue from where he left in 2016.
For his part, Mr Mahama expressed appreciation to the chiefs and people of Apesika for the honour bestowed on him.
He said when elected as president in the December 7 general elections, the next NDC government will complete all the abandoned projects.
