Eidul Fitr 2025: MTN Ghana Supports Muslims

Mr Miso and his MTN Ghana team are presenting the items to a representative of the National Chief Imam.

Accra, Ghana//-MTN Ghana today presented cash and assorted items to the National Chief Imam in Accra towards the celebration of this year’s Eidul Fitr.

The telecoms company supported this year’s Eidul Fitr celebration with cash and items worth over GH₵ 92,743.84.

The items and cash are listed below:

– 30 bags of rice

– 20 cartons of vegetable oil

– 40 packs of mineral water

– 10 cartons of canned drinks

– 20 packs of assorted soft drinks

– 1 large ram

– GH₵ 20,000 in cash

Additionally, similar donations will be made to Regional Chief Imams in the Ashanti, Western, and Northern regions.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony at the residence of the National Chief Imam at New Fadama in Accra, Chief Digital Officer of MTN Ghana, Ibrahim Mitso said: “Our donations across the country reaffirm our appreciation for your support, patronage, and loyalty to MTN.

We thank you once again for your continued support of our activities and for the warm reception we have enjoyed over the years”.

He continued: “Your Eminence, MTN Ghana deeply values the role you play in promoting peace, tolerance, and national unity. Your tireless efforts in fostering interfaith harmony and social cohesion have significantly contributed to the stability and progress of our nation, creating an enabling environment for our business. We are grateful for your wisdom and guidance, which continue to inspire many”.

To enhance our customers’ experience during the celebration, MTN will set up stands at key locations, providing customers with an improved experience while they celebrate, Mr Mitso said.

“Customers will be able to perform SIM swaps, register for Mobile Money, and conduct Mobile Money transactions. We will also utilize these platforms to educate customers about Mobile Money fraud”.

Gratitude

In a short speech, the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Dr Usumanu Nuhu Sharubutu thanked MTN Ghana for the continuous support and prayed for Allah’s abundant blessings for the company and its management and staff.

For over 16 consistent years, MTN Ghana has supported the Chief Imam during Eidul Fitr celebrations by way of donations and organizing key events in Nima and Accra New Town, all to foster peaceful coexistence in the communities.

Similarly, the company has been supporting the National Hajj Board annually in the organization of the pilgrimage to Mecca.
