Dr Omane Boamah: Gov’t Should Compensate Writers, Musicians & Actors Who Promote Patriotism

Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Former Minister for Communications and Presidential Spokesperson

Accra, Ghana, April 16, 2020//-Former Minister of Communications, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah has called on the government and corporate bodies to support Ghanaian writers, actors and musicians whose works promote patriotism and culture in the country.

According to him, the time has come for Ghana to pay writers, artists, musicians, actors, among others who develop works that enhance patriotism and culture.

Dr Omane Boamah who is a medical doctor made this call when he was reflecting on attitudes of the government and corporate organisations towards entertainers in the country.

Several actors especially the retired ones have been neglected by the government, corporate bodies and sometimes their relatives and friends leading to their untimely deaths.

However Dr Omane Boamah is of the view that this situation can be changed if the government, corporate bodies, philanthropists, among others patronise their products and services and reward them accordingly.
