
Accra, Ghana, March 21, 2020//- Former Minister for Communications & Presidential Spokesperson, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah has asked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to lockdown Ghana to halt Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) spread.
He made this call following the rising number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the West African country. So far, Ghana has recorded 19 COVID-19 cases, with no death. But the potential of the spread of the disease in the country is too high, according to health experts.
According to World Health Organisation (WHO), 234,073 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been recorded across 177 countries in the world, while 9,840 people lost their lives to the disease as of March 20, 2020.
