Innovate to boost growth and competitiveness
The Democratic Republic of Congo is a country experiencing a new political and economic thrill. From unexploited sectors, unused international funding, innovative financing, education, health, to the progressive setting up of R&D laboratories, many subjects can be developed and require real measures.
The goal is to think outside the box and to identify innovative axes adapted to the economic, geographical and cultural ecosystem, etc.
For that purpose, the DRC needs to draw inspiration from its African neighbors but also to include international experts in their thinking process. During the Makutano 2019, the delegates will all be gathered around concrete and strategic themes to boost the DRC’s growth in the face of major global changes: artificial intelligence, climate change, energy transition, sustainable economy, etc.
The presence of President Félix Tshisekedi at the opening and closing of this event reflects the importance of the public-private dialogue for a more attractive and competitive business climate.
An action-oriented event
This 5th edition will be a catalyst for all stakeholders of a new economic era and will mobilize experts and companies from different African and international countries. It will revolve around different themes such as: Digitization, innovative assets of the DRC, sport business in Africa, contemporary African art, family business, outsourcing and insurance in the DRC, women in business, public / private partnerships in health field, etc.
The Makutano Forum is the first economic event organized by and for business leaders of the DRC with the desire to accelerate the development of the country.
It mobilizes each year more than 500 participants from 20 different countries. It’s a private, independent, apolitical and secular event.
The event is powered by the Makutano network which was founded by the businesswoman Nicole Sulu. With the ambition of bringing together private actors and public authorities of the country, the network has federated a new generation of business leaders who are mobilized throughout the year to meet the socio-economic challenges of the DRC.
