
Accra, Ghana, April 1, 2020//-Ghana’s Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu today announced that confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has jumped from 161 to 195 with five deaths.
Thirty-four new cases were recorded on Tuesday, 31 March, he said.
The Greater Accra Region has 174 cases, the Northern Region has 10, the Ashanti Region has nine, the Upper West Region has one and the Eastern Region also has one case of COVID-19, Agyeman-Manu said.
Three persons have recovered and have been discharged.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Health Service announced that it would soon hit high-risk communities in the Ashanti region and the Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly (AWMA) with compulsory house-to-house testing of people suspected to be carrying the coronavirus.
