THE Ghanaian lady who was arrested for carrying 12.5kg of cocaine into the UK on Thursday (today) pleaded guilty to all the charges leveled against her in a court in London.
Ruby Adu Gyamfi, alias Nayele Ametefeh pleaded guilty to carrying cocaine in the UK.
The Isleworth Crown Court situated at 36 Ridgeway Road subsequently has adjourned the case to January 5, 2015.
Early this week, Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Hannah Tetteh, said Ms Ametefe was resigned to serving a jail term following her interaction with officials of the Ghana High Commission in London.
So far 12 suspects have been arrested by the Bureau of National Investigations in connection with the cocaine bust.
Ms Ametefe has been locked behind bars since her arrest at the Heathrow International Airport two weeks ago.
Meanwhile, the Minority in Parliament has demanded full-scale investigation into how Ms Ametefe managed to avoid detection at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Accra.
