
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania//-Managing Director (MD) of the Company, Alhaji Abdulai Antiku Seidu has been adjudged the First Runner-up West Africa Region in the inaugural Hub Agro-dealer of the Year Award (HAYA) 2023.
The award comprising a plaque and a certificate was presented to the MD and received by his daughter, Najahat Antiku at Delta Marriott Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
In a citation signed by the CEO of African Fertilizer and Agribusiness Partnership (AFAP), Michael Sudarkasa which reads: “This is presented by Alhaji Abdulai Antiku. The recipient of the African Hub Agro-deal of the Year Award (HAYA) has demonstrated exceptional dedication, innovation, and excellence as an African agribusiness.
This award recognizes their outstanding achievements, which have had a profound impact on food security, market development, and agricultural innovation. The HAYA winner stands as a true champion of growth and positive impact in African agriculture”.
Mr. Antiku Seidu and his company have won two awards in less than a month. The first award was Agro-input Retailer Of The Year 2023 while the second award was the HAYA 2023.
The HAYA 2023 which coincided with a summit held from the 4th to the 8th of September served as a powerful catalyst for inspiration and celebration, focusing on the remarkable achievements of Agri-SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) that are at the forefront of transforming agriculture in Africa.
Organiser of the HAYA and the summit, AFAP is leading a non-profit organisation that collaborates with public and private sector partners to bolster and foster fertilizer markets across Africa.

The summit provided a platform to reflect on the coordinated large-scale action by the continent’s leading thinkers, policy thinkers, policymakers, and innovators, to explore the latest breakthroughs and best practices in agriculture and food systems transformation.

Commenting on the prestigious award, the Managing Director (MD) of Antika Company Limited, Alhaji Abdulai Antiku Seidu said the award and recognition by AFAP would inspire him and his company to achieve greater heights in the African agriculture and agribusiness sector”.

Instructively, Antika Company Limited was established over two decades ago to provide high-quality seeds, distribute, and sell agro-inputs such as fertilizer, agrochemicals, and simple and affordable farm tools to farmers in the Upper West Region and across the Northern part of Ghana.
The company, which is based in Wa, the Upper West Regional capital, has two large farms located at Bamahu near Wa; and Tabiasi in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District of the Upper West Region.
