Staff of Airtel Ghana have paid a surprise visit to the adorable children of Village of Hope Gomoah Fetteh, in the Central Region, as part of their Make Your Change initiative.
The staff acted as ‘secret Santas’ who presented gifts to the children to further drive the telecom service provider’s celebration of the 100 days of happiness promotion.
Each staff anonymously selected a child and surprised them with exciting goodies. The Airtel team who were more than eager to meet their selected children visited the orphanage to present their gifts to the children who were oblivious about the surprises awaiting them.
The acting Head of Customer Experience at Airtel Ghana, Kola Sonola, said: “In little and exciting ways like this, we hope to put smiles on the faces of these precious ones and make a change in their lives.
Our secret Santas are not only here to share gifts but to build a lasting relationship with their new friends. It is a season of giving and no child must be left out.”
The Managing Director of the orphanage, Kwaku Sarkodie, expressed his gratitude to Airtel, saying: “We are very impressed with what has gone on here today and we want to say thank you to Airtel Ghana. We ask the Almighty God to bless you, especially the organizers of the programme. We hope Airtel is ranked amongst the best of the best in the coming years.”
Airtel’s Make Your Change initiative is one of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility projects which provide a platform for its employees to identify challenges in their various communities and provide solutions to them. It was built on the company’s strong determination to make a change in areas in which it operates.
Initiatives such as the Secret Santa are one of the many activities that have been carried out by Airtel Staff on the wings of the Make Your Change initiative.
The Village of Hope is a private NGO owned by the Church of Christ Ghana. It has been in operation since 1996 and currently takes care of a total of 260 children from crèche to tertiary level.
