Ghana’s music scene is experiencing a new wave of excitement as fast-rising rapper, singer, and songwriter Eldeezy takes fans on a new musical journey with his ongoing project, East Wave.

The project, which kicked off in January and runs throughout 2025, is already making conversations for its unique blend of relatable lyrics, genre experimentation, and bold storytelling.

Born Andy Osei Peprah, Eldeezy is not just another artist trying to make it big. With a background in Music and Film Studies, he brings a cinematic touch to his music, producing songs that resonate deeply with listeners.

His ability to weave personal experiences, social commentary, and motivational messages into his music has earned him a growing fanbase and admiration within Ghana’s showbiz circles.

The East Wave project is yet another proof of Eldeezy’s artistry, versatility, and ambition. According to the artist, the two-track monthly release is an experiment with different genres, themes, and sounds, challenging both himself and his audience to embrace a new wave of musical expression.

“I want each release to challenge listeners to think, feel, and engage with the different sounds and stories being told. So, whether you are a fan of rap, trap, afrobeat, highlife, gospel, or just good music, there is something in this project for everyone” he says.

Chapter 1: A Bold Introduction

The first chapter of East Wave dropped in January, featuring two tracks: East Side and Verse 1East Side, a low-tempo anthem, speaks directly to dreamers and hustlers, reminding them that despite the struggles, persistence will eventually lead to success. It is a song that hits home for many, especially in a country where the youth are constantly pushing against the odds to achieve their dreams.

On the other hand, Verse 1 is a fiery rap track where Eldeezy aims for the current state of Ghana’s rap scene. He calls out “catfish MCs” who rely on shallow wordplay for clout and backs it up with this bar, “I chose to spit sense when they were doing funny wordplays, sh*t be whack but they will do it for the web praise.” The track sparked conversations among fans and critics alike, with many praising the artist’s confidence and lyrical prowess.

Chapter 2: Love, Relationships, and Afrobeat Vibes

Following the success of the debut chapter, Eldeezy has just dropped Chapter 2, which features collaborations with Shaker and Gidochi on Your Side and Mind Dey respectively.

This chapter takes a sharp turn into Afrobeat/Afrofusion, exploring love and relationships from two distinct perspectives. Your Side is a melodic track that is themed on the free will to walk away from a stagnated love affair, while Mind Dey gives and solicits assurance of one’s love and loyalty.

Both tracks sync to address the emotional rollercoaster that often comes with relationships. The shift in sound and theme has generated mixed reactions from fans, with some praising Eldeezy’s versatility and others eagerly debating which style suits him best.

What is even more exciting is that this is just the beginning. With monthly releases planned until 2025, Eldeezy is set to take us on a genre-bending journey that promises to keep us on our toes. Will he stick to rap? Will he lean more into the Afrobeat? Or will he surprise us with something entirely new? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: he is an artist worth watching.
