Youngstars Development Initiative- Ghana (YDI), a youth development centred NGO in collaboration with House Of Glory (HOG) will commence its maiden entrepreneurship training project on 8th April 2016.
The project aims at training female school dropouts, teenage mothers and single mothers (below 32 years of age) in producing batik tie and dye and fashion design.
Other modules of the training will include customer relationship management, business management, leadership skills and mentoring sessions.
The 12-week long project will be facilitated by well trained veterans in the various subject areas. Thirty participants have been selected to benefit from the first phase of the project.
YDI-Ghana and HOG at the end of the project will assist some selected participants to establish small fashion design and batik tie and dye enterprises with assistance from some benevolent organizations and institutions.
The core objet of this Entrepreneurship Training Project is to economically empower young women who are less privileged and have no employable skills.
We intend to increase the number of women in formal business with this project thereby decreasing dependency and helping reduce youth unemployment especially among young women, according to the organizers.
YDI-GHANA has over the years collaborated with both state and non-state organizations such as Vodafone Ghana Foundation, NCCE, and local Partner organisation for Generations for Peace- Jordan, to execute different projects in different communities in the Greater Accra Region.
