Tension In Western North Region: Minister, Deputy At Each Other’s Throat

Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu, Western North Regional Minister who is accusing his deputy

Accra, Ghana, June 21, 2019//-After assuming office in barely four month, the Western North Regional Minister, Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu and his deputy Alex Tetteh are at each other’s throat over frivolous issues.

Mr Gyedu, has accused his deputy of undermining his authority and sabotaging him, as revealed by a letter in the possession of African Eye Report.

In a letter to the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama, dated 11 June 2019, Mr Gyedu made several allegations to prove his case against his deputy.

According to the regional minister, his deputy convened a regional Security Council meeting without his knowledge, issued security orders to counter his own orders and connived with a chief to change the site for a Regional Coordinating Council office, among others.

To this end, Mr Gyedu who was a deputy minister of health, fumed that the actions of his deputy have been strategically planned to undermine him and to make him look bad, ineffective, inefficient, incompetent and unpopular in order to get him sacked so he could become the regional minister.
