Accra, September, 2017//-The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has issued an alert to all Ghanaian citizens against travelling to neighbouring Togo due to the political tension there. The Director of Public Affairs at GIS, Michael Amoako Attah, said: “We still think it should be good that people travelling to Lome will be cautious”.

This comes on the back of a similar warning issued last month after the deadly protests by the Coalition of Opposition Parties. They have been calling for the resignation of Presiden tFaure Gnassingbe to mark the end of the Gnassingbe dynasty.

Opposition parties in Lome and some  parts of Togo have been demonstrating on major streets making the Francophone country very difficult to govern. Internet service has been shut down for the past two days while mobile service cannot be accessed.
