BUSINESSES operating in Ghana have heaved a sigh of relieve following the introduction of an Ananse Identification and Payment Processing Solution which enable companies to identify and track their defaulting clients.
The software developed by a Ghanaian to cater for biometric data, electronic maps, Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates, and satellite navigation of clients was launched in Accra.
The launch which was attended by officials of banks, metropolitan, municipal, district assemblies, ministries, departments and agencies served as a platform to market the latest IT invention to them.
The Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Joseph Oteng-Adjei was thrilled and commended the Ghanaian developer, Dr. Benjamin Adu for the invention.
He stressed that for any country to develop it must have the capacity to develop technologies needed to address its unique changes.
Dr Oteng-Adjei noted that it was important for the nation to invest in science, technology and innovation, adding “an area that is critical to the development of all modern economies”.
“Ghana has unique challenges that can only be properly addressed with indigenous but world class technology, and hence capable of competing with other countries on the world stage,” he added.
He said day-in-day-out, businesses and institutions are forced to adopt technological products that may address challenge, but unfortunately such technology available is not available to provide the solution.
Dr. Benjamin Adu explained that the Ananse product and solution comes as AnanseTab, SikaTab Ananse managed service and Ananse system.
He added Ananse product and solution is a reliable and trusted means to access data and records on well designed, secured and manageable software.
According to him “modern business processes require reliable identification and location of persons and properties,” he added.
