Yendi, Northern Region, Ghana//-The Member of Parliament (MP) for Yendi Constituency in the Northern Region of Ghana, Alhassan Abdul Fatawu Jofa ESQ., has joined the people of Dagbon and the entire nation in mourning the passing of His Royal Majesty, Yaa-Naa Abukari Mahama II, Overlord of the Dagbon Kingdom.

 

Expressing his profound sorrow in a press statement, the MP whose constituency hosts the Dagbon Kingdom said: “On behalf of the people of the Yendi Constituency, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family, the Dagbon Traditional Council, and all sons and daughters of Dagbon”.

Lawyer Abdul Fatawu Jofa continued: “The late Yaa-Naa was a remarkable leader whose reign was defined by wisdom, humility, and an unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and the progress of Dagbon”.

His leadership strengthened the institution of chieftaincy and inspired generations through his dedication to justice, reconciliation, and development, he added.

“As we mourn this great loss, I urge everyone to uphold the values of peace, unity, and respect that His Royal Majesty cherished.

May the Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and grant strength and comfort to the people of Dagbon during this difficult time. Rest well, Your Royal Majesty.
