Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Unveils Uniform of Legends

Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games has today unveiled its official volunteer uniform, which will become a familiar sight across the host city this summer, worn by thousands of dedicated volunteers when the Games return to Glasgow from 23 July to 2 August.

Uniforms for technical officials and Glasgow 2026 staff have also been revealed. All three uniforms have been produced by Trespass, the Games’ Official Uniform Provider.

Today, it was also announced that the volunteers will be known as ‘Legends’. Legends have been woven through the story of Glasgow 2026 so far, from Games mascot Finnie the unicorn to record-breaking athletes. Now, volunteers are set to be the Games’ biggest Legends.

The Glasgow 2026 Legends will be a community of passionate volunteers at the heart of the action, supporting the delivery of the UK’s biggest sporting event this year.

Whether they’re supporting athletes on the venue during competition, being a welcoming and friendly face to hundreds of thousands of spectators or supporting media, the Legends will be united and identified by a vibrant uniform designed in the Glasgow 2026 colours, representing Scotland’s rich landscapes with pinks, blues and purples.

Pink will be the colour that unifies the Legends, featuring across the sleeves on all their garments. For technical officials, it will be purple and Glasgow 2026 staff will be identified with teal.

Whatever the weather this summer, the uniform will keep Legends cool, comfortable and dry with six unique items and two feature a flash of the Glasgow 2026 bespoke tartan design.

  • A breathable, packable waterproof jacket with reflective detailing that means they’ll never get caught in a downpour. The lining of the hood features the Glasgow 2026 tartan design.
  • A functional softshell jacket made from 100% recycled polyester with zips to keep all their legendary items safe
  • A quick-dry polo shirt keeps them cool and comfortable, whatever their role
  • Adjustable-waist trousers that are built for movement
  • A 30L backpack with padded back and shoulder straps and compression straps. The backpacks are a standout item featuring the Glasgow 2026 tartan on the back.
  • As soon as the sun comes out, all Legends will be ready with an adjustable cap for ultimate protection

Over 2,000 Legends gathered at the SEC Armadillo for an exclusive first look at their Game Time dress code last night at the start of their training journey. After seeing the uniform for the first time, Wan Yueng, a Legend and a volunteer CGA Assistant, said: “I cannot wait to be a volunteer at Glasgow 2026. Seeing the uniform makes it all feel more real! It’s going to be great to be able to stand out in the crowd. I love that it’s functional, colourful and really comfy. It’s going to be the best summer.”

Alongside Trespass as Official Uniform Provider, the Glasgow 2026 volunteer programme is supported by Allwyn, operators of the National Lottery. Allwyn is named on the volunteer polo shirt. Allwyn will ensure every volunteer is ready to help stage a world-class festival of sport and culture by supporting the delivery of a training programme.

George Black CBE, Chair of Glasgow 2026, said: “Glasgow is one of the greatest cities in the world for hosting major sporting events, not because of our venues and infrastructure alone, but because of the people who bring those events to life.

“‘Legend’ is a term of admiration in Scotland, and it’s a fitting name for the volunteers. At any Games, a uniform is more than an outfit. It is an identity. These uniforms will unite our Legends, our technical officials and our staff as one team across the city this summer and with fewer than 100 days to go, the countdown is well and truly on.

“We’re proud to be working with partners who share our connection to this city — and Trespass, a brand with deep roots in Glasgow, is a perfect example of that.”

Mr Afzal Khushi CBE from Trespass, added: “We’ve been dedicated to the production of these uniforms for 8 months and it’s incredible to reveal these three distinct uniforms to the world. We know the value of a uniform, and it’s really special that these designs will be worn by the people who are shaping these reimagined Games.

“We took inspiration from some of our best-selling products, so we know that volunteers, technical officials and Glasgow 2026 team members will feel comfortable and confident when delivering their role. The initial response has been brilliant, and we can’t wait to see everyone wearing them this summer!”

Eilidh Doyle, Commonwealth Champion and Allwyn’s Glasgow 2026 Ambassador, added: “Volunteers are a fundamental part of the Games, not only for how people experience the event, but for the Games to actually go ahead. Athletes are hugely appreciative of all the work that volunteers do, and these incredible uniforms will be their way of identifying a friendly and supportive face during their competition. I can’t wait to see the Legends become the heartbeat of the city this summer.”
