Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana//-A suspect linked to the alleged theft of telecom towers and communication cables, Alhasan Dangote, was arrested by the Airport Police Station in Kumasi after a tense confrontation.
According to police sources, the suspect allegedly posed as a national security officer, insisting that no one had the authority to arrest him. He reportedly refused to cooperate and resisted officers during the operation.
Sources say the suspect struggled with officers before they professionally brought the situation under control and placed him in a police cell. No injuries were reported.
The case has raised concern within security circles. Officers warn that using the name of national security to commit crime damages public trust and puts critical telecommunications infrastructure at risk.
