Management of Starbow Airlines, a domestic airline in Ghana has apologized to its cherished passengers, especially those who were on its flight S9103 on Sunday 9 April, 2017 for any inconvenience the incident might have caused.

“Starbow apologises to its cherished guests, especially those who were on its flight S9103 on Sunday 9th April, for any inconvenience this incident might have caused”, according to a statement issued and signed by the CEO of Starbow, Eric Antwi, Starbow.

It explained that the Starbow’s scheduled flight en-route to Accra from Kumasi, flight S9103, on Sunday 9 April, 2017 was re-routed back to Kumasi due to unfavourable weather conditions which prevented it from landing on arrival in Accra.

The statement noted that the airline’s attention had been drawn to information circulating in some local media in relation to an alleged incident in its flight S9103 on Sunday.

The airline stressed that the flight was airborne from Kumasi to Accra at 15.35 hours and on approaching its destination in Accra, the weather changed, resulting in a severe thunderstorm and moderate turbulence during the flight.

The change in weather at the destination led the Captain to enter a holding pattern with other aircraft that were also due to land in Accra when conditions were better, but subsequently opted to fly back to Kumasi when the conditions did not improve.

“Due to this, the Captain decided to return to Kumasi as a safety precautionary measure and all passengers were disembarked safely without any incident and the flight was not in any danger at all,” the statement said.

It added that the sudden change in weather was consistent with the changing season and could not be anticipated.
