According to the Police, the road closure forms part of “traffic management strategies to ensure sanity and security on all the routes leading to the conference venue and other security zones.”

The following roads will be affected in the exercise:

Traffic from Movenpick Hotel to Airport Traffic Light on the Independence Avenue (Accra Bound) will be closed to the general public.

Traffic diversions

The Police advised the public in a press release “to note these arrangements and plan alternative route before embarking on their journey. No vehicle will be allowed to park or drive through the mentioned sealed roads. Traffic officers will be on hand to give assistance to motorists on alternative diverted routes”.

It urged motorists to cooperate with them to ensure an incident free event. The summit which will focus on Ebola, is scheduled to take place at the plush Movenpick Hotel in Accra.
