The directive follows what the authority describes as bad weather conditions which makes visibility a challenge for pilots to safely operate in the region.
A number of flights have already been cancelled prior to the directive. President Mahama was not able to land in Tamale over the weekend for the same reason.
Speaking to the Citi Business News, Acting Director General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Alhassan Abdulai said its forecast show the weather will be clear by Wednesday to allow the resumption of operations again.
