The leading telecoms operator recorded strong financial growth in 2025, reporting a profit after tax of GH¢7.8.
This represents an increase of 55.9% compared to 2024 year-on-year.
This impressive growth was driven by service revenue, which stood at GH¢24.4 billion in 2025, depicting a 36.2% compared to 2024.
The financial results of the Scancom PLC, operators and owners of MTN Ghana, also revealed that the company’s mobile subscribers increased by 9.2% to 31.2 million.
While its active data subscribers increased by 13.7% to 19.9 million, the company’s financial performance report for the year, which ended 31 December 2025, added.
Also, the report said the company posted a total capital expenditure (capex) of GH¢6.4 billion (GH¢4.6 billion, ex-leases) during the period under review. Whereas earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased by 43.5% to GH¢14.7 billion.
It was quick to add that the company’s EBITDA margin increased by 3.0 percentage points (pp) to 60.1%. The company stated that it paid GH¢10.5 billion in direct and indirect taxes in 202,5 as compared to GH¢8.6 billion in 2024.
Based on this impressive performance, the board of directors of the telecom company recommended a final dividend of GH¢0.40 in 2025 as against GH¢0.24.
Mr Blewett attributed these exceptional results to highly energised, personally focused staff within the organisation who delivered the results for the betterment of the company as well as the country.
He told journalists and stakeholders at this year’s MTN Ghana Media and Stakeholder Forum that, “our secret of performance is simple. We have highly energised, focused people within the organisation who deliver the results.
I can’t deliver results by myself. They focused on delivering the results for the benefit of the company and the country as well”.
Mr Blewett added that the company has disciplined professionals across all aspects of the company, and they spend on what they focus on, and these ensure that the business does well.
So, we are very happy about it, he stated.
Mr Blewett also used the forum to share updates on the company’s performance and discuss opportunities being explored as part of MTN’s strategy.
