Airtel Ghana Grabs AGI Award

AIRTEL Ghana’s continuous effort of making a positive impact in the lives of the people and communities in which it operates was recognised at the 3rd Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) awards ceremony.

The award, Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Company of the year, adds to the growing number of awards conferred on Airtel Ghana in recent times by Industry watchers and stakeholders.

It would be recalled that Airtel Ghana swept the highest number of awards at the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) Excellence Awards held recently, 2 of which were for CSR and had been won the previous year making them back to back wins – Best Community Relations Program of the Year and PR Campaign of the Year.

Airtel has indeed picked awards for its CSR initiatives from each of the major institutions that have conferred excellence awards to organizations this year- AGI, IPR, Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana and Ghana Telecoms Awards.

Airtel Ghana has also won the highest award “Change Maker Award (Gold) 2014” for Corporate Social Responsibility. The Change Maker Awards honors companies within the Bharti group of over 17 countries across Africa and Asia.

Commenting on the award, the Managing Director of Airtel Ghana, Lucy Quist assured Ghanaians that Airtel will continue to be socially responsible. She indicated that the company’s commitment and dedication to sustainable CSR initiatives is paramount. She thanked all who in their contributions had made the award possible.

The theme for this year’s AGI awards was “Rewarding Industry to Promote Made in Ghana Products.
