December 6, 2017//-Ghanaian workers operating on the ENI Onshore Receiving Facility (OCTP- TEN) project at Sanzule in the Ellembelle constituency in the Western Region, have suspended operations over unlawful dismissals.

Citi Business News understands the workers have embarked on a sit down strike as a result of the development.

The Ghanaian workers, numbering about five hundred say they are gradually being replaced by other nationals on the field despite having same qualification.

A situation one worker who spoke on condition of anonymity describes as a breach of the country’s local content laws.

They believe the move is also a violation of their three months renewable contracts with Amaga Oilfield and Orsam for the past nine months.

It is unclear what has led to this development as management of ENI is yet to comment on the matter.

The OCTP fields is expected to continuously supply Ghana’s thermal power system, from 2018 to 2036.
