President In Isolation: Dr Omane Boamah Wishes Akufo-Addo Best Of Luck

Accra, Ghana, July 5, 2020//-Former Minister of Communication in the erstwhile Mahama government, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah has wished President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo the best of luck as he goes through 14 days of isolation.

Mr Akufo-Addo is in self-isolation after getting close to “at least one person within his close circle tested positive for COVID-19.”

Dr Omane Boamah who is a medical doctor, said: “Let’s all stay safe and protect one another”.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Information Minister said in a statement on the advice of doctors, the president is from “July 4, 2020, taking a 14-day precautionary self-isolation measure in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.”

The statement failed to name the member of the president’s inner circle who has tested positive. However, it pointed out that the president himself has tested negative “as at today [July 4]”.

This development comes just a day after the president toured some voters’ registration centres in the Greater Accra Region.

COVID-19 Statistics 

At the time of this publication, confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ghana have moved to 19,388, according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS)The total number of deaths caused by the deadly pandemic in the country stood at 117 while recoveries/discharges at 14,330 and active cases at 4,491 as of July 3, 2020
