Accra, Ghana, August 28, 2018//-Popular Ghanaian actress, Ella Mensah who is based in Lagos, Nigeria has advised young actors and actresses to take time to learn acting in schools before jumping into the movie industry.

According to her, “the industry has changed. It is not liked before you just get a script and act and that is it. There is now a serious business side to the industry”.

Ms Mensah who gave the advice in an interview with African Eye Report explained:  “Right now, you need to know the business side of it so that you can make good money”.

So, as young actors and actresses,  you need to know the acting business. You need to know your craft, and you need to be good as possible to make it to the top, she advised.

Gone were the days when we used to sell  movie CDs in cars and on the streets and other outdoor public places.  Nowadays, the internet has taken over the industry, according to her.

Though the movie industry is going through changes, Ms Mensah is emphatic that; “the  industry is going to be bigger than this in the next five years in both Ghana and Nigeria”.

” It is going to bigger and better. It is going to be great. More producers will come in. More investors will pump in more money into the industry”, the screen goddess stated.

Ms Mensah therefore admonished: “The industry is profitable if you play your game well. Try and shoot as many movies you can”.

“Lately, it is not about the movie shooting alone. The more you film, the more you get notice; the more you get endorsement deals, the more you become brand ambassadors for products, services and companies, among others”, she noted.

Ms Mensah stated: “Our industry is very profitable if you do your work very well”.

Meanwhile, she has featured in over 40 movies produced in Ghana and Nigeria.

Ms Mensah has starred alongside some of Nollywood big names — Mike Ezuruonye, Patience Ozokwor and Genevieve Nnaji, Ramszy Noah, among others.
