NCR Congratulates New MTN Ghana CEO

Accra, Ghana, June 21, 2018//-The Network of Communications Reporters (NCR), has congratulated Selorm Adadevoh on his appointment as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MTN Ghana.

“We have closely followed your interest and passion for the sector over the years and therefore, the announcement comes as no surprise to us; We have also followed with keen interest, your insightful articles about the industry over the years and we trust that, you can bring your deep knowledge on issues bothering the sector to bare on the company and the industry as a whole”, a release issued in Accra and signed by the Dean of NCR, Charles Benoni Okine, said.

The release described the present moments as exciting times for the industry and MTN as it has launched its Initial Public Offer (IPO) to give Ghanaians an opportunity to be part of the company.

“MTN has been a leader in the industry for decades and has also led with the introduction of many innovations; it is therefore our fervent hope that your assumption of office at this time will help the company to do more to benefit not just the company and its shareholders but the economy as a whole,”, it said.

“We want to see MTN create more jobs for the mass of the people through innovative programmes and activities, more than it has done before”.

According to MTN, MrAdadevoh will bring a wide-ranging skill set to his new role with MTN, including experience in the technology industry where he has leveraged technology innovation to drive P&L/ EBITDA improvement.

Brief on new CEO

Mr Adadevoh takes over from Ebenezer Asante who is now the Vice President of the MTN Group.

Prior to his appointment, Mr Adadevor was the CEO of Digicel and based in Haiti, which is the Digicel Groups largest market. He was also the Chief Commercial Officer and head of Mobile Financial Services (MFS) for Millicom (Tigo) Ghana.

Mr Adadevoh is an alumnus of the Wharton School, the University of Pennsylvania and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
