Accra, Ghana, October 20, 2020/- Waterz Yidana, a multiple award-winning who shares hometown with the current Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has endorsed John Dramani Mahama for the upcoming December presidential election.
People on social media platforms are wondering why such a powerful writer who has received multiple literary awards and also won the 2019 40under40 award could be throwing his weight behind the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr Yidana said that he was very critical of the previous John Mahama’s administration because he thought that he wasn’t doing enough but he has now realized that the former president (JM) did far better than the Dr Bawumia-Akufo- Addo’s government.
Coupled with the fact that the University of Ghana has adopted one of Mr Yidana’s plays for their Theatre Arts Department, he seems to be doing massive campaign for Mr Mahama to win the 2020 general elections.
The writer cited the many infrastructural projects built and some upgraded to ultra-modern status by Mr Mahama, like the Kotoka International Airport, Bank of Ghana hospital, University of Ghana Medical Centre, Kumasi Military hospital, Kasoa hospital, Kasoa Interchange, Circle Interchange, Kotokuraba Market, Kejetia Market, among others.
Mr Yidana added that several education and hospital facilities as well as roads, housing and water projects were built during the tenure of the Mr Mahama.
But he lamented that his brother Bawumia and Akufo-Addo-led government has nothing to show for their monumental borrowing.
Mr Yidana said that he hadn’t publicly endorsed any party or presidential candidate before, until now.
For the December 2020 general elections, he’ll vote for John Mahama and has also urged all his followers and friends on Facebook to do same.
He believes that John Mahama is very competent and is a nice guy who can help Ghana progress at a faster pace.
