Accra, Ghana, May 14, 2019\- Scancom Plc operators of MTN Ghana today brought thousands of Ghanaian shareholders to its maiden Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Accra, after listing on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) last year.
The year 2018 marked a turning point in the life of the company, according to the Board Chairman of the company, Ishmael Yamson.
Revenue margins
He told the shareholders: “MTN Ghana reported a strong performance for the year 2018. Service revenue increased by 23.5%, driven by the strong growth in voice, data and digital revenue including mobile money.”
Mr Yamson added that data revenue increased by 30.2% year–on- year while digital revenue grew by 34.6% year-on-year, within which mobile money revenue grew by 60.3% year-on-year.
Dividend payment
With of the impressive performance, the Board declared dividend of 5 pesewas per share to its Ghanaian shareholders of 127,826.
