MTN Ghana Gets Close to Customers, Visits Major Markets to Mark Workers’ Day

Accra, Ghana, May 1, 2019//-MTN Ghana deepened its long existing relationship with customers across the country by visiting selected major markets, as part of activities to mark this years Workers Day in the country.

 In Accra, staff of the telecoms company visited market centres in Madina, Kaneshie, Agbogbloshie, Makola, and Ashaiman to interact and educate their customers on products and services of the company.

They also used the occasion to activate new SIM cards, sell new products including MTN TurboNet and MTN Smart Feature Phone. Some issues relating to mobile money were addressed by the staff during the visit on Wednesday.

Similar activities were carried out by the staff across the other regions of the West African country.

The Chief Financial Officer of MTN Ghana,  Modupe Kadri who led some of the staff to the Madina market said: “This visit gives us the opportunity to interact with our customers and all those in our ecosystem. As you are probably aware, 2019 was declared as the Year of the Customer to enable us engage very well with our customers, stakeholders, suppliers, distributors, among others”.

The ordinary customers want to see what it is that attract them to MTN and what else we can do improve our services going forward, he explained.

Mr Kadri said that his interaction with the customers at the market revealed that they want the company to do more to improve the network service which is recently affected by fibre cuts.

But he assured them that the company was working around the clock to address the challenge within the shortest possible time.

We are also here to get feedback from our customers to go back and see how we can improve our service better, Mr Kadri stated.

Commenting further on the fibre cut, the Senior Manager In-charge of Compliance and Anti-money Laundering at MTN Ghana, Godwin Kwami Tamakloe assured that the company would prosecute anybody or group guilty of the offence.

Some market women who spoke to African Eye Report after the interaction could not hide their joy but to encourage the MTN staff to continue visiting them to further strengthen the relationship.
