Accra, Ghana, December 7, 2019//-The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has announced that from February 1, next year it will delete the names of all pensioners who have not gone through the Biometric re-enrollment exercise.

The Trust in a statement issued in Accra said: “In 2014 directed members to re-enrol through the biometric registration process and followed up with reminders to ensure that this call is adhered to”.

But some pensioners according to the management of the Trust are yet to go through the stipulated process.

It warned that it “will stop payment of monthly pensions to pensioners who fail to re-enrol by January 31, 2020″ adding that ‘pension payment to affected persons will only be restored after biometric re-enrollment.

The Trust therefore called on pensioners who have not followed the procedure to visit the nearest branch by January 31, 2020.
