Ghana: Price of Sachet Water to Go Up

Sachet water business is dominant in most developing countries including Ghana and Nigeria

November 2, 2018//-The Eastern Regional Sachet Water Producers Association, Ghana has announced that prices of sachet water will from Monday, November 5, be increased from GH¢2 per bag to GH¢3 at factory price.

The Association has cited the instability of the dollar as the major factor necessitating the impending increment.

Chairperson Hajia Tina Mariama Boateng complained Friday on Onua FM’s Yen Sempa hosted by Bright Kwasi Asempa that cost of production has gone up, hence the need to increase prices.

“We buy fuel for our trucks. We repair our trucks, and all these have gone up,” she said.

She added that the cost of electricity and the cost of paying workers have all added up to their burden.

Hajia Mariama thus explained effective Monday November 5, the factory price of sachet water will be increased, appealing to consumers to bear with them.
