Ghana: Hospitality, Home M’gt Services Sector Can Employ Over 10,000 a Year

Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Supreme Hospitality Limited  and Experts Consult Limited, Nathaniel Johnson

Accra, Ghana, March 18, 2020//-Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Supreme Hospitality Limited  and Experts Consult Limited, Nathaniel Johnson says the Hospitality and professional home management services  space alone has great employment potentialities to absorb over 10,000 employees annually.

Making his concluding remarks after entering into partnership with, David Tiki Dange, Independent Parliamentary Aspirant for Damongo Constituency to deliberately prioritise the employment needs of his constituency, Mr Johnson said, “our studies and experience have shown that should government seriously commit to helping  entrepreneurs create Virtual Host Plan jobs in this sector, we could empty Ghana’s streets and communities of the teeming unemployed youth. Supreme Hospitality established HomeMakers Academy and HomeMakers Pro just for this.”
According to him, with the implementation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) programme, a lot of SHS graduates who are unable to enter tertiary are joining JHS   dropouts on the streets and that very dangerous because they, certainly, will find something to do if we do not get them anything meaningful to do to absorb their energies.
“In their frustrations and hopelessness, they resort to alcohol and drugs like tramadol, tramol, etc. which, is draining their God-given talents into uselessness. More frightening, is the security implications of this growing phenomenon. We’ve got to do something about it urgently,” the passionate jobs creator  observed.
He said that as an entrepreneur, he is committed to solving problems and one of the major challenges of the nation that gives him sleepless nights is the growing youth unemployment. “I can’t sleep seeing all the fast growing population of idle youth on our streets,” he said.
Citing lack of government support for companies like his, he lamented, “we cannot do it alone. We need government support to expand and patronise our services.
We need Members of Parliament (MP), Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs), etc., to partner with us to recruit, train and place their constituents.
That is the surest way we can employ more people thereby solving the growing unemployment problem while empowering citizens economically. Sadly, we have to go to virtually beg such people when we have the solutions to the problems they are supposed to solve.”
On his part, Mr Dange expressed empathy to him and promised to work with him to solve the growing youth unemployment problem in his constituency. “I understand you very well. And, that is why I have come to you for this partnership. Together, we can work to solve the problems.”
