Accra, Ghana, September 30, 2019//-Ghana’s Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) today announced an increment in electricity and water tariffs to be paid by consumers, effectively on October 1, 2019.
According to a statement issued by the commission, consumers would pay 5.94% tariff for electricity and 2.22% tariff for water, bringing increase to over 8%.
The increase in tariffs was determined by the Automatic Adjustment Formula (AAF) which considers eight factors including inflation, in arriving at a review, the statement said.
