June 23, 2020//-Ghana coach Charles Akonnor has heaped praise on Jordan Ayew for his immeasurable maturity, insisting the explosive form of the Crystal Palace striker will be hugely beneficial to the African giants.

Ayew, 28, has come in for massive plaudits after becoming the country’s top scorer in the English Premier League.

The former Aston Villa striker leapfrogged former Leeds United cult hero Tony Yeboah to become the leading Ghanaian marksman in the top-flight of English football on 25 goals.

Jordan achieved the monumental feat after scoring in the side’s 2-0 win at Bournemouth.

It was his 9th goal of the season for the Eagles this season.

And Black Stars coach Charles Akonnor has poured admiration for the hugely talented striker.

“I feel good and it’s good for us as a football nation and he is gradually growing to become a big name in the premiership and we are all happy,” he is quoted by Starr Sports.

“I personally have some likeness for him , the way he is growing, being a very young man and the way he is now maturing into a big player and somebody who always leads the attack, I think it’s a great thing.

“I will encourage him to continue with his fine form, it’s a great thing and it will always help us.”

Ayew has the opportunity to open the goal scoring gap between himself and the legendary Tony Yeboah.
