September 25, 2020//-As characteristic of him, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama is once again in the media space claiming glory for the interventions by the Business Development Minister, Dr. Ibrahim Awal in supporting People With Disabilities (PWDs) in the Northern, North East and Savannah regions.
On Tuesday, September 22, 2020 the Business Development Ministry through its sector Minister disbursed a total of GHS200, 000.00 to People With Disabilities at a brief ceremony in Tamale.
These beneficiaries were drawn from the Northern, North East and Savannah regions. Yendi Municipal Assembly had its fair share of the package with 10 Persons With Disabilities benefitting from the support.
According to the sector Minister, the beneficiaries numbering 300 were selected from all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in the Northern, North East and Savannah regions. This means that no metropolitan, municipal and district assembly in the Northern, North East and Savannah regions was left out.
However, with his usual penchant for lies and claiming glories that do not belong to him, Alhaji Farouk on his social media platform FAM TV, in a story captioned “FAROUK ALIU MAHAMA SECURES BUSINESS SUPPORT FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITY IN YENDI” is claiming credit for the support. The post says “Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, Parliamentary Candidate of the NPP for Yendi Constituency through the Business Development Ministry has secured financial support for 10 disabled persons in the Yendi Constituency to undertake various income generating activities.”
The story goes further to say: “This adds to his agenda of building the NEW YENDI CITY which shall cater for all manner of persons. This is the first phase of the support to the disabled and the second phase shall soon be rolled out.”
From the above it is clear that a support meant for selected disabled persons from all Metropolitan, Municipal & District Assembly in the Northern, North East & Savannah regions which obviously include Yendi Municipality is now being taken as Farouk’s intervention. This is a scam and must be condemned in all terms. Yendi cannot be entrusted in the hands of a scammer.
A German-born theoretical Physicist, Albert Einstein once said: “Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.”And a famous Author Roy T. Bennet also said “Speak with honesty. Act with Integrity.”
You would recall that Alhaji Farouk has on various media platforms claimed to have started his social interventions in Yendi way back in 2012 and when he was challenged to list the said interventions between 2012 and 2016 he has still not responded.
The hallmark of every leader is truthfulness with his people. The question is can Alhaji Farouk be trusted with the truth. Does he have the integrity to lead the good people of Yendi? Your guess is as good as mine.
Why is it that Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, a Deputy Minister of Energy or Hassan Tampuli, CEO of National Petroleum Authority (NPA) did not claim glories for the same support that was given by the Ministry to the disabled in Karaga and Gusheigu etc.
Is it that Alhaji Farouk cannot at least for a moment do away with his dishonesty and scam-like attitude? Or does he think Yendi people are not capable of discerning and so he can be throwing dust into our eyes?
The people of Yendi deserve better!
