Madrid, Spain, July 13, 2020//- Emily’s Entourage Foundation and the 3AW agency have raised more than $150,000 in the fifth edition of their well-known ENNY:Live event to promote research into nonsense mutations of the cystic fibrosis worldwide.

The money was raised on 27th May, during the fifth edition of the ENNY:Live event, organized by the American non-profit foundation Emmily’s Entourage (EE), whose proceeds have been earmarked for research into cystic fibrosis.

With the performances of Erin Foster, Alexander Ludwig and Jon Cleary, among others, this virtual and reinvented experience, which supported the work done by Emily’s Entourage, has been a success and has raised more than $151,819.

The ultimate goal of this non-profit association is to accelerate the research and development of medicines and treatments for those with nonsense mutations of CF.

In this sense, there have been many advances in recent years, but there are still cases -10% of the affected- for which there are still no proven clinical trials.

For this reason, the foundation has organized different events during this year, such as Blue Cross Broad Street Run, held in October, or the ninth edition of the Emily’s Entourage gala, held in December.

With this, it has managed to advance in its fight against CF, a disorder that causes continuous lung infections, limits respiratory capacity, and affects one in two thousand five hundred babies.

Emily’s Entourage (EE) is a foundation created by Emily Kramer-Golinkoff, a young woman with advanced cystic fibrosis who has been promoting the importance of the research and the development of drugs that could help, not only people with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) but also those who suffer a wide variety of genetic diseases caused by nonsense mutations, including forms of muscular dystrophy and cancer.

These types of mutations among people with CF cause about 12% of all genetic diseases and affect about 70 million people worldwide. It is estimated that up to 300 million people worldwide live with some form of rare disease, including cystic fibrosis.

Instructively, Emily’s Entourage is a non-profit organization founded by Emily Kramer- Golinkoff in order to improve and accelerate the investigation and the development of medications to cure nonsense mutations of Cystic Fibrosis.

While 3AW is an independent multinational with a wide strategic view specialized in communication, media, digital solutions, PR, marketing and creativity.
