Eidul Fitr 2018: MTN Ghana Supports National Chief Imam

Accra, Ghana, June 13, 2018//-MTN Ghana has presented cash and assorted items to National Chief Imam in Accra towards the celebration of this year’s Eidul Fitr.

MTN supported this year Eidul Fitr celebration with cash and items worth over GH¢15,000.00. The donations included cash cheques, bags of rice, cartons of cooking oil, boxes of mineral water, crates of assorted soft drinks, ram and MTN airtime.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony at the residence of the National Chief Imam at Fadama in Accra, Senior Manager, Customer Services and Credit Management of MTN Ghana, Salihu Abu said, that; “this presentation goes to affirm our appreciation for your support, patronage and loyalty to the MTN network”.

He extended greetings from management and staff of MTN and thanked Allah for the strong relationship that exists between the company and the Muslim community.

“May Allah, the Most Gracious and Most Merciful, bestow on the Chief Imam and our households, good health, prosperity and total peace throughout the year. May He grant you and your families’ abundant grace and holiness now and always”, Mr Abu added.

He noted that in a few days’, Ramadan would be coming to an end and Muslims in Ghana and around the world will be celebrating Eidul Fitr.

“The end of Ramadan is a time of joy as we extol the values of the Islamic faith; empathy, charity, holiness and patience. We at MTN believe that these values help us in cultivating relationships and forging a better and stronger social fabric as a people”.

For this reason, Mr Abu said; “we are here today to extend our warmest regards and most sincere wishes from the Management and staff of MTN to you for the relationship we have enjoyed with the Muslim Community over the past 11 years.

As a result of our long-standing relationship,MTN Ghana has over the past 11 years extended its support to the Muslim community in various ways such as the annual donation to National Chief Imam, Regional Chief Imans in Kumasi, Takoradi, Tamale and sponsorship of Sallafest in Nima and Accra Newtown”.

In addition to this donation, MTN, according to Mr Abu would also donate cash and food items to the Regional Chief Imams in Kumasi, Takoradi and Tamale.

The business is also sponsoring the 19th edition of Nima Sallafest, which is the largest gathering of Muslims in Accra and the Accra New Town Sallafest. We hope our support will help make this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr a memorable one, he stated.

“We will ensure our products and services are available for all our customers during Eidul Fitr with data activations being carried out throughout the period at vantage points.

Furthermore, the telecoms company said it would continue to support the Hajj Board with our products to facility their work. Last year, MTN refurbished the lodging area at Hajj Village with over GHc200,000.

As we collectively strive to build a better society, we are delighted to share with you that MTN Ghana recently launched its Initial Public offer (IPO). In view of this launch, MTN Ghana is giving the opportunity to every Ghanaian to own part of the company. The shares are going for 0.75p per share and one can purchase in multiples of ten (10). This means that with just Gh¢ 7.50 one can own shares in MTN Ghana”.

We also advise interested persons to speak to financial investment expert for in-depth understanding before making a decision to buy the shares”.

In a short speech, the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usumanu Nuhu Sharubutu thanked MTN Ghana for the continuous support and prayed that; “Allah will bless MTN abundantly”.

Later,  Imams and Elders of the Muslim community received the items on behalf National Chief Imam and the Muslim community.
