Accra, Ghana, December 4, 2018//-Masahudu Ankiilu Kunateh, the Editor-In-Chief of African Eye Report, a leading Pan-African ICT, economy, business, banking and finance, and energy news website, has been shortlisted for the 2018 edition of the annual business and financial journalism awards by the Institute of Financial and Economic Journalists (IFEJ).
He is among the 10 financial journalists from both private and public media houses who have been shortlisted for the awards slated for Friday, December 14, 2018.
They are Masahudu Ankiilu Kunateh of African Eye Report}, Kofi Ahovi, a Freelance, and Francis Kobena Tandoh of Xinhua News Agency.
Other shortlisted journalists are Edward Frimpong of B&FT, Ama Amankwah Baafi of Graphic Business, and Kwabena Adu Koranteng of the New Crusading Guide.
The rest are Suleman Mustapha and Maxwell Akalaare Adombilla, and Emmanuel Bruce, all of Graphic Business, Richard Annerquaye Abbey of B&FT, and Isaac Aidoo of the Business Finder.
A release issued by the President of IFEJ, Rayborn Bulley said: “The 2018 Awards is partnered by the World Bank Group, GNPC, the Ghana Chamber of Mines, the Ghana Stock Exchange, the Central Securities Depository, MTN, Voltic Ghana, Accra Brewery Limited and Melcom Group.
Others are GCB Bank, Stanbic Bank, Vivo Ghana, Bank of Ghana and Inkit”.
The seven-member Jury under the chairmanship of Professor John Gatsi, a renowned economist settled on the shortlisted as potential award winners across the various categories.
This year’s event which slated for Friday 14, December at the World Bank premises in Accra is on the theme ‘Towards Better Management of Natural Resources for Inclusive and Development’.
The Guest Speaker is Sulemanu Koney, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Mines.
Instructively, the Institute of Financial and Economic Journalists (IFEJ) was formed in 1990 to help develop the skills of journalists in business and financial reporting.
One of the objectives of the institute is to advance the study, development and application of improved financial and economic communication methods through appropriate hands-on approaches and platforms.
Over the past years, the Institute had lived up to this objective and positioned itself as an effective organisation that provides and promotes co-operation, common understanding and exchange of ideas in the field of economic and financial journalism.
This objective enabled members of the Institute to attend various workshops, seminars, roundtable discussions with captains of industry and commence as well as with government and non-governmental organisations on another various aspects of the economy.
