Ashanti Regional CLOGSAG Chairman Resigns Over Embezzlement

December 17, 2018//-The Ashanti Regional Chairman for Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG), Bansi Adam has resigned from his position as the Regional Chairman due to some misappropriation in his outfit, report has revealed. 

A resignation letter signed and dated on 20th November, 2018 by Mr Bansi Adam was officially announced and informed the entire Members of CLOGSAG at their Council Meeting at the Regional Secretariat on Friday, 14 December 2018.

The National Executives have appointed Mr. Alexander Obeng as Acting Regional Chairman until next election.

Issues surrounding the former Chairman’s resignation according to an insider disclosed that Mr Bansi when he was the Regional Treasurer, illegally forged the signatories of the then Regional Chair lady Madam Mercy B. Acheampong and the Regional Secretary Daniel Brobbey and pocketed an amount of GHC106,482 from the Association’s Coffers after auditing report.

His involvement in this fraudulent scandal called his arrest at the Central Police station and remained in the Custody until the next day on 19th November 2018.

According to the Regional Executives Mr Bansi Adam who is the current HR Manager of Regional Social Welfare has made an initial deposit of GHC30,000 and has promised to settle the remaining amount by December, 2019.

Mr Bansi Adam was the Ashanti Regional Treasurer and later elected as Regional Chairman for CLOGSAG secured 47 of 65 of the total votes cast in November 7, 2018 and resigned on 20th November, 2018.
