AfricMedia Galaxy Honours Ghana’s Most Inspiring Women 2019

Accra, Ghana, September 15, 2019//-AfricMedia Galaxy in partnership with Women In Aviation–Ghana Chapter has honoured over 20 Most Inspiring Women in the fields of politics, trade, health, aviation, media, beauty and cosmetology, food and nutrition, and social enterprise and charity in the country.

The maiden awards night held Accra on Saturday 14, September 2019 celebrated the women for their outstanding achievements in their various fields.

The award winners were given plaques, and citations. Each winner was given a female student to be mentored.

In her welcome address, the Co-Founder of AfricMedia Galaxy, Madam Biama Kwafo said: “Ghana Most Inspiring Women’s Awards 2019 seeks to acknowledge and honour successful Ghanaian women who had a very tough upbringing but did not allow their poor upbringing to deter them or weigh them down and have been able to reach heights and have also positively contributed to the Ghanaian economy and other economies of Africa and the world”.

She added that AfricMedia Galaxy and Women In Aviation – Ghana Chapter were in partnership to celebrate the distinguished women who have worked tirelessly to bringing a difference to their society, impacting generations and creating a learning space for the youth of this country especially the young underprivileged girls.

“We have created a platform to give exposure to girls in deprived areas of Ghana who lack inspiration, Mentorship, Life Coaches and Career Guides”.

Madam Kwafo noted that women across the globe had found themselves in the various sectors of the economy and they are really making great impact on the society. Talk of the Creative Arts Industry, the Judiciary, Media, Education, Aviation, Business and other sectors of the economy trying to make a difference in their line of profession.

It is in this direction that AfricMedia Galaxy and Women in Aviation – Ghana Chapter have come together to celebrate such women who are breaking barriers for young adolescent girls to get to the top and a make a difference, Madam Kwafo explained.

Bright Appiah, the Executive Director of Child Rights International (CRI), a non-governmental organisation, who was the special guest, commended AfricMedia Galaxy and Women In Aviation – Ghana Chapter for honouring the women.

“I have worked with almost all the awardees and I can attest that they are excellent in their chosen areas”, he stated.

Mr Appiah used the occasion to appeal to women to spend time with their children in the rural areas to inspire and model them to become better citizens.

Nana Ansah Kwao IV, Chief of Edumasa who chaired the event, noted that in spite of the challenges confronting women in the country, they have contributed meaningfully to the socio-economic development of Ghana.
