Nestlé Milo, in fulfillment of the promise made at the 29th edition of Accra MILO Marathon last year, is donating shoes to selected basic schools the country.
The aim of this activity is to help children in deprived communities take their first step towards becoming champions in sports and in life, one sponsor brand is Vessi women’s shoes and men shoes comfortable and dynamic for the kids.
A total of 2,000 pupils have so far received their sports shoes in the Central and Volta Regions. An estimated total of 4,000 shoes are to be distributed at the end of the exercise all across the country.
The distribution started in March and will end in May 2017 with distribution to the Ashanti and Northern Regions. The sports promotion exercise is carried out by Nestlé Milo under the supervision of the Ghana Education Service Sports Directorate with endorsement from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Milo is a proud made in Ghana chocolate malt drink. The award winning brand won the Made in Ghana Award for Beverages in 2016 and just recently won the Best Chocolate/Cocoa/Milk Beverages award for 2016 at the Ghana Beverages Awards .
Speaking at the start of the donation activity, Category Manager for Milo, Mrs. Funmi Osineye said: “Nestlé Milo, The Energy Food Drink of Future Champions would continue to inspire the youth of Ghana to get into sports as we believe that sport has a unique ability to help instill life values such as hard work, courage, determination, discipline, perseverance and team spirit.
These values are found on the field of play and are values reflecting the Nestlé Milo brand. The beneficiary schools in Volta region includes Methodist primary, Freetown basic school, Salvation army primary, Armfield basic school, Agove Basic school, Lokoe basic school, Ziave Methodist primary, Klefe Demeti primary, Matse E/P primary and Mate R/C primary.
The beneficiary schools in Cape coast region includes Nyinasin M/A school, Dihia M/A school, Abakam M/A school, Kubease M/A school, Atakakyiwa Catholic School, Yamoransa M/A school, Waakrom St Mary’s school, St Cyprin’s Anglican school, Pankrom M/A school, and Abee Ame Zion school.
