MTN Ghana Supports Muslims Towards Eidul Fitr

MTN Ghana has presented cash and assorted items to National Chief Imam in Accra towards the celebration of this year’s Eidul Fitr.

 MTN supported this year Eidul Fitr celebration with cash and items worth over GH¢15,000.00. The donations included cash cheques, bags of rice, cartons of cooking oil, boxes of mineral water, crates of assorted soft drinks, ram and MTN airtime.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony at the residence of the National Chief Imam at Fadama in Accra, the Chief Information Officer of MTN Ghana, Abbad Reda, said that; “this presentation goes to affirm our appreciation for your support, patronage and loyalty to the MTN network”.

He extended greetings from management and staff of MTN and thanked Allah for the strong relationship that exists between the company and the Muslim community.

He indicated that, the celebration of Eidul Fitr is a time when families and communities come together to share and strengthen their relationships.

Mr Reda said: “In line with MTN’s vision of leading the delivery of a bold new digital world to our customers, MTN will carry our data activation Eidul Fitri period at vantage points to give our valued customers an experiential  feel of the benefits of our Internet and data services”.

“It is important for people to use the internet. It is a great tool for the promotion and optimisation of businesses as well as for education and commerce. Through the internet the youth can project a positive image for Muslim youth in our country”.

In addition, MTN shall deploy their equipment to enhance the quality of the network to meet the numbers of people expected at the Eid grounds, Mr Reda stated.

Besides the donation, MTN Ghana has carried out extensive corporate social interventions through its foundation across the country.

Through the MTN Ghana Foundation, the telecom service provider, according to him, has improved access to healthcare and education and improved the economic livelihood of many by investing more than  GH¢32.5 million in over 142 major projects which are impacting the lives of more than four million Ghanaians.

“MTN will continue to give back to communities through corporate social interventions to make the lives of our customers a whole brighter”, Mr Reda assured.

In a short speech, the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usumanu Nuhu Sharubutu thanked MTN Ghana for the continuous support and prayed that; “Allah will bless MTN abundantly”.

Later, the spokesman of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu and Imams and Elders of the Muslim community received the items on behalf National Chief Imam and the Muslim community.
