February 12, 2018//-It was a great weekend for Ghanaian players across the globe as most of them helped their clubs to victory, and quite a few of them hitting the back of the net.

Albert Adomah continues to deliver the goods for Aston Villa as he netted to lift them to second place on the English Championship standings.

Andre Ayew had a weekend to cherish after his second debut for Swansea City ended in victory as was Francis Narh in Cyprus..what a way to announce yourself in a new championship?

ENGLAND

Collins Quaner was introduced in the 65th minute for Huddersfield Town in their 4-1 win over Bournemouth at home.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah played the entire duration for Crystal Palace as they mulled 3-1 against Everton at the Goodison Park. Jeffery Schlupp missed the match through injury.

Daniel Amartey was again missing in Leicester City squad as they were thump 5-1 at Manchester City.

Christian Atsu made a cameo appearance for Newcastle United as they pipped Manchester United 1-0 at the St. James’ Park.

Jordan Ayew lasted 91 minutes for Swansea City as they pipped Burnley 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium. Andre Ayew made his second debut for the side as 59th minute substitute.

In the Championship, Albert Adomah netted his THIRTEENTH goal of the league for Aston Villa in their 2-0 win over Birmingham City at the Villa Park.

Andy Yiadom was for the first time named as interim captain for Barnsley in their 1-1 stalemate with Sheffield Wednesday.

Caleb Ekuban missed Leeds United 2-1 defeat at Sheffield United through injury. He is expected to return to action in next week as was announced by former coach Thomas Christiansen before he was replaced with Paul Heckingbottom last week.

Dennis Odoi was an unused substitute for Fulham FC in their 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers.

Phil Ofosu-Ayeh missed Wolves 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers through injury.

In League One, Bernard Mensah warmed the bench for Bristol Rovers in their 2-1 loss at Oxford United.

Kwesi Appiah missed AFC Wimbledon squad that lost 3-1 at home to Northampton through injury.

Tarique Fosu lasted 82 minutes for Charlton Athletic in their 1-1 draw with Doncaster Rovers. Joe Dodoo was not included in the Addicks match day squad.

In League Two, Hiram Boateng watch from the substitute bench for Exeter City in their 1-1 draw with Wycombe.

Elsewhere in the lower leagues, Nana Ofori-Twumasi lasted full period for Maidstone in their 2-2 draw at Bromley. Darius Osei was an unused substitute for the visitors.

Kwame Thomas played full throttle for Solihull in their 1-0 loss at Ebbsfleet.

Nortei Nortey lasted 75 minutes for Maidenhead in their 1-0 loss at home to Sutton. Bradley Odoi-Hudson, elder brother of Chelsea budding striker Callum Odoi-Hudson, warmed the bench for the victors.

Harod Odametey lasted 90 minutes for Maidenhead in their 2-1 home loss to Torquay. Nana Owusu warmed the bench for the losers.

Koby Arthur was not included in Macclesfield squad that beat Guiseley 2-1 at home.

SPAIN 

Mubarak Wakaso missed the match day squad for Deportivo Alaves as they shocked Villarreal to a 2-1 victory at the El Madrigal.

Thomas Partey’s playing minutes for Atletico Madrid has been shrinking since the start of the second half of the league as he made a 70th minute introduction in the Rojiblancos 1-0 win at Malaga.

Emmanuel Boateng made a cameo appearance for UD Levante in their 3-1 loss at Valencia in the El Derbi at the Estadio Mestalla.

ITALY

Kwadwo Asamoah warmed the bench for Juventus in their 2-0 win over Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.

Alfred Duncan lasted 88 minutes for Sassuolo as they drew goalless with Cagliari at the Mapei Stadium. Claude Adjepong warmed the bench for the hosts.

Isaac Cofie was an unused substitute for Genoa in their 1-0 victory over Chievo Verona.

Godfred Donsah watched from the substitute bench as Bologna were defeated 2-1 by Inter Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

Afriyie Acquah missed Torino’s 2-0 home win over Udinese through suspension.

Rahman Chibsah and Bright Gyamfi warmed the bench for Benevento Calcio in their 1-0 win over Chievo Verona. It was the first victory for the Witches in the league after 18 matches.

In the Serie B, Yusif Rahman Chibsah picked a booking but lasted full throttle of action for Frosinone in their 1-0 loss at Bari. Emmanuel Besea warmed the bench for the losers.

Bright Addae picked a booking before being taken off at half time as his side Ascoli lost 2-1 to Empoli.

Isaac Donkor lasted full period of action for AC Cesena in their 1-1 draw with Avellino.

Moses Odjer was not included in Salernitana squad that lost 1-0 at Pescara.

In Serie C, Ransford Selasi made his debut for Lecce as 87th minute substitute in their 2-1 win at Bisceglie.

FRANCE

Enock Kwarteng warmed the bench for Nantes in their 2-2 stalemate with Lille Metropole.

Ebenezer Assifuah picked a booking before being substituted in the 72nd minute for Le Havre in their 1-0 win over Stade Brestois.

Goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi made his league debut for Sochaux Montbilliard since joining the club seven months ago in their 3-0 loss at Stade Reims. Grejohn Kyei warmed the bench for the victors. 

GERMANY 

Bernard Tekpetey warmed the bench for Schalke 04 in their 2-1 loss at Bayern Munich. BabaRahman was again missing from the match day squad.

Kevin-Prince Boateng lasted 71 minutes for Eintracht Frankfurt in their 4-2 victory over struggling FC Cologne at the Commerzbank-Arena.

Gideon Jung picked a booking but lasted full throttle for Hamburg in their 2-0 loss against Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park.

Defender Joseph Baffo missed Eintracht Brauschweig goalless draw with Sandhausen through injury. Steffen Nkansah was not added to the visitors squad.

Kwame Yeboah was not included in Paderbon squad that lost 1-0 at home to Erfurt.

Marcel Appiah was an unused substitute  for VfL Osnabruck in their 6-1 win over Chemnitzer.

Agyemang Diawusie lasted full minutes for SV Wehen in their 2-2 stalemate with SV Werder Bremen. Michael Akoto warmed the bench for Wehen.

AUSTRIA

Kadiri Mohammed played full minutes for Austria Vienna as they walloped 3-1 by LASK Linz at home. Samuel Tetteh lasted71 minutes for the victors.

David Atanga lasted the entire duration of St. Polten 3-0 defeat at home against his former club, Mattersburg.

Majeed Ashimeru opened the scoring for AC Wolfberger before being taken off in the 89thminute as they beat Sturm Graz 1-0.

AZERBAIJAN

Richard Gadze played a key role for Zira in their 1-0 victory over SumQayit at home.

BELGIUM

Bernard Kumordzi was a stalwart at the heart of defense Kortrijk in their 4-0 win over Royal Antwerp. William Owusu Acheampong made a cameo appearance for the losers.

Nana Opoku Ampomah enjoyed full throttle for Waasland-Beveren as they held league leaders Club Brugge to a 1-1 stalemate.

Joseph Aidoo was in his usual element for KRC Genk in their 3-1 win over Zulte Waregem.

Dennis Appiah was replaced by compatriot Francis Amuzu for Anderlecht as they were beaten 2-0 at Oostende. Emmanuel Adjei Sowah missed the game for the losers through injury but Dauda Mohammed was not added to the squad.

Nana Kwesi Asare was in excellent form for KAA Gent as they swat aside Sint Truiden 3-0 at home. Samuel Asamoah lasted full throttle for the losers.

Eric Ocansey played full action for KAS Eupen in their 1-0 loss at KV Mechelen. Abdul Manaf Nurudeen was not added to the loser’s match-day squad.

Striker Issahaku Yakubu lasted 60 minutes for Lierse in their 1-0 defeat at home to OH Leuven. On loan Leicester City youngster Kamal Sowah was not included in the victors match day squad.

CROATIA

Maxwell Boadu Acosty made a cameo appearance for Rijeka in their 4-0 win over Istra 1961.

Ahmed Said opened the scoring for Hadjuk Split as they mulled Cibalia 5-0.

CYPRUS

Francis Narh got off to flying start to his Doxa career as he scored in their 4-0 win at Achnas. Benjamin Asamoah lasted full period for the victors.

DENMARK

Moro Ibrahim was magnificent for Silkeborg as they defeated AA Alborg 3-2 at home.

Ernest Asante played full period for FC Nordjaelland in their 2-1 loss at Sondjyskye. Jonathan Amon made a cameo appearance for the losers but there was no sign of Godsway Donyoh on their substitute bench.

Kelvin Mensah made a 67th minute introduction for Brondby in their 3-1 win at Lyngby.

EGYPT

Hans Kwoffie and Andrews Okrah were in action for Smouha as they were pipped 1-0 at home by Zamalek.

Richard Baffour  and Thomas Abbey played their parts in Ismaily goalless draw at El Daklyeh.

FINLAND

Striker Seth Paintsil continued his scoring form for Jaro FF in their 4-0 win over Keski-Uisimaa in the Suomen Cup. 

MEXICO

Clifford Aboagye lasted the entire duration of the game for Atlas FC in their 3-1 loss at Lobos Buas.

NETHERLANDS

Derrick Luckassen warmed the bench for PSV Eindhoven in their 2-1 win over Sparta Rotterdam.

Jonathan Opoku made a cameo appearance for VVV Venlo in their 2-2 stalemate with Heerenveen

Thomas Agyepong returned from a long injury layoff to make a cameo appearance for NAC Breda in their goalless draw with Excelsior.

Asumah Abubakar missed the match day squad for Willem II in their 1-0 loss at Heracles Almelo.

In the Eerste Divisie, Leroy Owusu warmed the bench for Almere City in their 5-1 defeat at Oss.

In the Segunda Liga, Osei Barnes and Ernest Ohemeng for Arouca in their 1-0 home win over Real SC.

Kwame Nsor lasted 60 minutes for Academica Viseu in their 5-1 win over Benfica B.

Raphael Dwamena netted the winning goal for FC Zurich in their 2-1 win at St Gallen.

In the Challenge League, defender Kwadwo Duah warmed the bench for Winterthur in their 4-1 win at Wohlen.

Richard Ofori manned the post for Maritzburg United as they overcame Moroka Swallows 3-1 win after extra time in the Nedbank Cup round of 16 stage.

Razak Brimah returned to the post for Mamelodi Sundowns in their 1-0 win over Cape Town All Stars in the Nedbank Cup round of 16 stage.

Richard Kissi Boateng played his part for SuperSport United win over Bloemfontein Celtic in the Nedbank Cup round of 16 stage.

Akosah-Bempah Nana netted the only goal for Cape Town City FC in their 1-0 win over Young Buffaloes in the preliminary stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Bernard Morrison helped Orlando Pirates sail through to the quarter final stage of the Nedbank Cup with a brace against Ajax Cape Town in the round 16 stage.

SWEDEN

Samuel Mensah was introduced in the 77th minute for Ostersunds in their 3-0 win against Trelleborgs in the first round of the Swedish Cup.

SAUDI ARABIA

Isaac Vorsah, who was named in the league’s team of the week last week, kept up his enterprising form for Ohod during their 1-0 win over Al Taawon.

SCOTLAND

Prince Buaben made a cameo appearance for Hearts of Midlothian in their 3-0 win over St. Johnstone. Danny Amankwaa warmed the bench for the Jambos.

TUNISIA

Nicholas Opoku played the entire period for Stade Tunisien in their 1-0 win at Stade Gabesien.

TURKEY

Kamal Issah was not added to the Genclerbirligi squad that played goalless draw with Trabzonspor through suspension while Elvis Manu also missed the game through injury.

Asamoah Gyan continued his bench warming role for Kayserispor in their 1-1 home draw with Sivasspor. John Boye was however, not included in the visitors match day squad.

Joseph Attamah lasted full period for Istanbul Basaksehir in their 2-0 defeat at home to Fenerbahce.
